Volunteer Support Team
We have an established group of fully trained volunteer support workers. Each receives accredited training in Understanding and Working with Sexual Violence. Volunteers give over 1,110 volunteer hours to Gloucestershire Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre each year. The volunteer team staffs our helpline, and keeps in regular contact with survivors on our waiting list for face-to-face support.
Maggie Stewart joined us in September 2018 and is keen to support the organisation regionally, and more widely to influence policy makers in a positive way.
Service Manager, Magdalena, provides support to the Specialist Support Worker and ISVA teams and oversees the day to day running of the service.
Specialist Support Workers
We have four specialist support workers – Christina, Zareen, Bobbi and Debbie – who give one-to-one therapeutic emotional support to survivors for up to 24 sessions, they also support GRASAC through delivery of group work.
Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVA’s)
Alison, Beverly, and Maggie work as Independent Sexual Violence Advisors (ISVA’s), providing advocacy and guidance to individuals affected by sexual violence. Sam works as our children and young persons Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) . Carley also works as a children and young persons Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) as well as delivering our prevention and awareness work in schools and colleges.
Office Manager, Laura, keeps the Centre running smoothly, making contact with suppliers and supporters and keeping both staff and the public updated through social media.
Monitoring and Evaluation Co-Ordinator Indi analyses all of our data ensuring we collect accurate information about our service users. This in turn allows Indi to evaluate our data, providing outcome information for the organisation, funders and supporters.
Our ISVA administrator Karen supports the ISVA team by providing necessary administration tasks and is first point of contact for referrers into the ISVA service.
