How we’re funded

Gloucestershire Rape and Sexual Abuse Support is an independent charity affiliated to Rape Crisis England and Wales, the national umbrella organization.

We constantly seek funding to sustain the service. Find out how you could help us raise funds to support survivors of rape, sexual assault or abuse.

In 2016–2017 we received funding from the Ministry of Justice, Gloucestershire Police & Crime Commissioner, NHS Clinical Commissioning Group, and Comic Relief. Our work was further supported by Gloucestershire Community Foundation,  Gloucestershire Disability Fund, The Summerfield Trust, Garfield Weston Foundation, The Oak Foundation, 29th May 1961 Charitable Trust, The Barnwood Trust, The Gyde Charity, The Helen Rice Foundation, The Jack Lane Charitable Trust, Soroptimist International Cirencester and District, and

Amazing individuals raise additional funds by running marathons, attending events, and by donating money. Thank you to those who donate regularly online or via standing order – regular donations help us enormously to plan our work

We rely on the kindness of organisations who donate time, products or services free of charge.

We’d like to thank Zurich plc and Endsleigh insurance whose staff helped spruce up our new centre in 2017; Barclays Bank for matching the money we raised from a raffle, and all the local businesses who donated prizes; Sarah Hylton for raising funds by running the Gloucester City Marathon in our name; solicitors Evershed Sutherland for pro-bono legal services during our 2017 move to new premises, and Griffiths Marshall who prepared our accounts, free of charge, from 2012 – 2017. GE Aviation System, based in Cheltenham, are supporting us with the purchase of a much-needed office printer and furnishings for our support room, and Yorkshire Building Society have helped pay for equine therapy sessions for abused children.

In the last few months we’ve also received generous donations from GCC Innova (our IT support company), Renishaw plc, the Lions clubs of Cheltenham, Severn Dean and Dursely, and the Rotary Club of Cheltenham Cleeve Vale, Rotary Club of Tewkesbury, Gloucester Masons. Thank you all!

QAA (The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education), based in Gloucester have chosen us as their nominated charity for 2018. Staff will be raising money through activities such as Pancake Day sales and participating in marathons.
